An international, sustainable energy business is seeking a Business Development Manager to sell decarbonisation solutions to the commercial property sector, you can be based anywhere in the UK, but commutable to London is ideal.
The role offers lots of flexibility and hybrid working, you will report into the Director of Energy and focus on selling large scale, sustainable energy solutions, £250k - £10m, to enable the decarbonisation of the UK’s housing market. You will work with the full array of technical solutions such as ground source heat pumps, geothermal boreholes, air source heat pumps, solar, LED, water control devices etc…
Duties will include:
- Develop existing and generate new business relationships with property developers, housing associations, local government and large scale landlords.
- Develop proposals and bids for new heat, water and energy decarbonisation projects.
- Grow and manage your own portfolio of clients, as well as those allocated.
- Support lead generation, attend events and client sites.
- Support the delivery team and liaise closely with engineering and operations departments to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Deliver and report on your revenue targets.
Candidates MUST have:
- Strong business development and account management experience in the sustainability sales space.
- Experience selling technical solutions, working on deals that can take 3 months to 12 months to close and managing the relevant stakeholders, contract negotiation and internal teams to maximise successful outcomes.
- Good proposal and tender management capabilities.
Desirable are:
- Experience working with sustainable energy solutions for the property sector.
- Sales experience in the housing market, built environment or commercial real estate space.
- Experience selling in public sector customers like local authorities, county councils or the NHS and operating via the relevant frameworks.
