An exciting, zero emissions, UK Energy business is seeking an ESG Manager to oversee and deliver their whole strategy and reporting. The business is based in Northeast England, however they are open to both hybrid and full remote options.

Reporting into the CFO you will cover both their corporate ESG & CSR activities, such as embedding the sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, investor communications, procurement and supply chain decarbonisation and implementation of social impact projects.

Duties include:

  • Managing and implementing ESG strategy.

  • Identifying and implementing sustainability best practice, e.g. net zero, circular economy, social impact etc…

  • Reporting to sustainability reporting frameworks.

  • Responding to investor ESG requests.

  • Data management, collection and reporting across all ESG metrics, with a focus on continued improvements.

  • Performance reporting and ESG target setting.

  • Support ISO standard accreditations.

  • Cross-function interaction with senior leaders on ESG strategy implementation and progress.

  • Keeping abreast of sustainability related legislation, plus advise and implement activities in order to meet legislative requirements, e.g. EU Taxonomy, CSRD and TCFD.

  • Deliver internal and external communications, covering the annual report content, case studies, sustainability reports, blogs, website content and investor information.


Candidates MUST have:

  • Successful track record in a similar role.

  • Ability to deliver and lead on ESG strategy and policy.

  • Strong Reporting skills, including data gathering and analysis.

  • Good stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.

  • Ability to work in a rapidly growing business, undergoing constant change.


Desirable are:

  • Energy, manufacturing or FMCG would be useful.

  • Experience managing 3rd party suppliers.


The successful candidate will join a growing business but must be happy being the sole member of the ESG team, the role offers good career progression though as the company continues to expand over the long term.

You will receive a basic salary of up to £60,000, up to 25% bonus and 8% pension, plus a broad range of extra benefits.
