ESG Hiring

ESG hiring refers to the practice of recruiting employees with expertise in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors. These factors are increasingly important to businesses, especially those that ate purpose lead, focused on sustainability, ethical practices and corporate responsibility. ESG hiring involves finding individuals who can contribute to a company's efforts in these areas, whether through strategy, analysis, reporting, compliance or managing sustainability initiatives.

For example, companies might hire Heads of ESG, ESG Managers, ESG Reporting Specialists, ESG Analysts or ESG Consultants; other roles with ESG responsibilities include Sustainability, CSR, Social Impact employees or experts in environmental policy to help them align with ESG goals. This can include:

  1. Environmental: Addressing sustainability, carbon footprint reduction, renewable energy adoption and resource management.

  2. Social: Ensuring fair labour practices, diversity and inclusion, community engagement, social value, CSR and employee well-being.

  3. Governance: Focusing on corporate governance practices, ethics, transparency and compliance with regulations.

ESG hiring is becoming more common as companies face growing pressure from consumers, investors and regulators to prioritise sustainability and ethical practices.
